St Denys Children's Ministry
It is our belief at St Denys that children are not to be seen as future members of the church,
but as full contributing members in their own right.
During the 11.00 Services St Denys Church runs a number of childrens groups,
each catering for a specific age group.
Our Child and Vulnerable Persons Protection Policy
Our Church has an active ministry among children, young people and vulnerable adults.
Our church council (the “PCC”) takes seriously its responsibility to protect and safeguard the
welfare of all those entrusted to the church’s care or who use its services or participate
in any of its groups.
Our Vulnerable Persons' Policy outlines the procedures and standards expected by the church.
The full policy is available to be seen in the Church Office.
As part of the church’s mission the PCC are committed to:
- Listening to, relating effectively and valuing children,
young people and vulnerable adults and ensuring their protection whilst participating in all church
activities.
- Encouraging and supporting parents and carers.
- Ensuring that children’s and youth workers are given appropriate support and training.
- Ensuring there is a robust system for dealing with concerns about possible abuse
To ensure these are achieved the PCC has appointed Pam Maidment as the parish’s
Child Protection Co-ordinator.
Bubbles for 3 to 5 year olds
Bubbles is a lively interactive group for our younger children.
The focus is on fun while learning about the basics of the Christian faith
Splash for 5 to 8 year olds
Splash aims to help our 5 to 8 year olds learn more about God and Jesus.
Splash combines games, songs and creative activities with bible based teaching in a fun environment.
Xstream for 8 to 11 year olds
Our 8 to 11 year olds still enjoy fun and games but have a far greater ability to
learn about God and his ways. Xstream aims to provide a challenging but enjoyable
environment in which to learn about what it means to be Christian.
The Grid for 11 to 14 year olds
The Grid provides an environment in which teenagers can develop a deeper
relationship with God in a lively fun environment. A place that
they can feel confident enough to discuss those more difficult questions and issues.
